building for today
delivering for tomorrow
fiercely local
At first, I never saw myself in politics. But after leading organisations and seeing how quickly good change can fade, I needed to go further.
I ran for Council to turn that spark into something enduring — to help shape a better future that lasts. For all of us.

my year 1 priorities
Riccarton is one of the most diverse, fastest-growing parts of our city — and it deserves leadership that makes sure people don’t just get by, but thrive. That means creating real opportunities for work, business, and education, while building a community that feels safe and connected for everyone.
My focus is on the things that matter most: homes people can afford, streets and public spaces where you feel secure, transport that actually works, and a city that invests wisely in its future. At the same time, it’s about giving our young people opportunities, supporting local business, and ensuring growth is planned in a way that strengthens neighbourhoods rather than strains them.
These eight priorities reflect what I believe Riccarton and Christchurch need most — a community where people feel safe, supported, and proud to call home.
1. Revitalise the Riccarton Business District
In my first year I’ll drive the renewal of central Riccarton by delivering a RBD Action Plan with local shops, Westfield, and community groups. This will include new streetlights, a trial roving security patrol, and the first stage of streetscape upgrades. My goal is to increase local foot traffic and business confidence by 10% in the first 12 months, laying the groundwork for a vibrant, welcoming hub.
2. Smarter Transport & Infrastructure
In my first year I’ll push to revamp the City and Riccarton bus exchanges and kick off detailed design work, while securing Riccarton’s place on the Mass Rapid Transit route. I’ll also back smarter traffic management – improving green light phasing to keep things moving and introducing green arrows at Church Corner and Clyde Road to ease congestion and make intersections safer. At the same time, I’ll work to clear the backlog of local upgrades: repairing footpaths, improving water infrastructure, and delivering safer crossings around schools.
3. Safer, Greener Neighbourhoods
In my first year I’ll support the planting of 1,000 new trees across Riccarton, alongside five parks or green upgrades in high-use areas. I’ll work with staff to deliver lighting upgrades in at least five priority streets and parks. These first steps make our neighbourhoods safer, greener, and more connected — the kind of places families can feel proud to call home.
